I bought this flat iron because I needed a replacement for my Chi and this is the same brand as the iron my stylist uses, and hers is amazing. I am very pleased with this iron. WAAAAYYYYY better than the Chi. I struggled with my chi, and my hair is just wavy, not curly or kinky. This iron gets really hot really fast and makes my hair really straight the first time through. I believe that this iron would straighten any type of hair without much difficulty. Although this iron is more expensive than the Chi, it is well worth the extra $30.00.
