I have very curly frizzy (ethnic) hair. I had been chemically straightening it, but switched to this product in hopes of damaging my hair less. I'e been using it over a year. It only relaxes my hair a little bit. So while it's less damging than chemical straightening, I have to use the flat iron every day, which damages it more. With chemical straightening I did not have to use a flat iron because it really relaxed my hair.
