Rusk Calm Shampoo Sulfate Free 13.5 oz. Review

I like Rusk. I have been using Rusk Sensories Smoother shampoo (among others) for years, and I've always liked it a lot. Smell, lather, price--all good. I didn't know or care about sulfate yet. Then, after I started coloring my hair, my colorist got me on Nexxus Phyto Organics Chromalife Color Lock, and I LOVE it even more than Rusk smoother except it's more expensive. So I was using both, but I still didn't know or care about sulfate.
Then, after having a Brazilian blowout done (original Keratin type), where they tell you NOT to use sulfate-containing shampoo, I bought the ultra-expensive, official "Brazilian Blowout Acai Anti-Frizz" shampoo for that. The Acai is OK, no complaints, but I like the smell and the lather of Color Lock a little better, and the price of Color Lock a lot better. Plus, I realized my beloved Nexxus Color Lock was also sulfate-free! This was a great discovery since like to have more than one shampoo to use. So, I wanted to find something more reasonably priced than the Acai.
I searched Amazon for more sulfate-free shampoos, and lo and behold, Rusk makes one--I was so happy I bought 4 bottles! Even though it had no reviews! (What a dope I was!) Couldn't wait to try it, couldn't be more disappointed. Forget the smell, lather, and price. They're all OK. The problem is this stuff leaves my hair feeling HEAVY, UNSOFT, & STICKY (as in can't run your fingers through it), even though I do the 2nd lather with Nexxus Color Lock, then a quick creme rinse, then a good conditioner (my normal routine). YIKES! I don't know what's up with this stuff but I've tried it 3 times and I hate it.
I haven't decided whether to return it or not because it would cost about $10 to ship it and I paid about $10 to get it shipped to me (I have Prime but this is not part of that deal), so I'd still be out at least $20, and I'm not sure if they will refund me for the bottle I opened and tried. Still thinking about it.
Next experiment: a couple of L'oreal sulfate-free shampoos that I can get for $6 each! Yes, on Amazon (and no shipping with Prime) if you are still looking for sulfate-free to try out. Wish me luck!
